Which hand should I mute the strings with?
When you want to silence the strings between notes, you can do this by touching the strings with either your fretting or plucking hand.
One might come more naturally to you than the other. Most people usually find the plucking hand to be easier.
But you don’t need to pick a side! Eventually, you want to be able to do it with either hand, because the plucking hand won’t always be available for that role if you’re playing a busier bass line.
They are both tools that you’ll need for different bass playing situations, and I’ll prompt you to use both techniques in Beginner to Badass, along with a variety of tips to get the most out of each one.
