Am I too old to play bass?

Nope! Unless there's a Special Committee on Determining Correct Age for Beginning an Instrument that I don't know about, there is no "right time" to start playing bass, except for... now.

I’ve had many, many students go from Beginner to Badass in their 60s, 70s, and even 80s, and they had a great time doing it.

Yes, the best time to start learning bass might have been 20 years ago, but the second best time is today.
