Can I play bass if I have small hands?

Definitely, lots of people with small hands play bass amazingly – even some virtuosos like Victor Wooten.

If your lower frets feel way too far away on a standard-scale bass, a short-scale bass might be your answer.

But it’s not required, and lots of "small handers" use standard-scale with no problems. It’s possible that it’ll stop feeling “too big” once you get a handle on your technique, especially with something I teach in Beginner to Badass called “microshifting”.
