What if my fingernails are catching on the strings?

Fingernails catching on the strings can cause an unpleasant clicking sound when you pluck, which is only appropriate in select genres of aggressive music.

Want to get rid of it? Follow these 3 easy tips:

1. Cut the nails as short as you can (especially the two plucking fingers, index and middle)

2. Pluck a little “deeper” (closer to the pad, further from the tip)

3. Angle your fingernails away from the bass, so you finger pads are closer to facing the bass (versus fingertips pointing at the bass)
